What is Mountain Monkeys Adventure Dance camp all about?

We are Swingin Monkeys Dance School from Sofia, Bulgaria. We aim to create an event that focuses on swing dancing, knowledge and having fun with inclusion for everyone. That event is Mountain Monkeys Adventure – Swing Dance Camp. Join us for a crazy Balkan weekend full of great adventures, tons of fun, dancing and lessons!

Meet The Teachers

Velislava Velkova & Ben white (BG&usa)

We have a mash up of teachers for you here! Velislava as one of the OG of the Bulgarian swing scene and Ben White, one of the biggest international teachers! They team up to bring you some incredible dance knowledge!

Velislava has gone through different styles of dance since childhood but ended up with all swing related in 2009. She loves to dance and embody the swing music regardless of the style.

Ben White has been addicted to all things swing since 2004. He has studied Lindy Hop, Balboa, Tap, and Solo Jazz dance under masters from the original swing era and worked with world class contemporary swing dancers.

Elena Evangelia & Ruben Garred (GR&Nor)

Coming from Norway and Greece, Ruben and Elena are joining forces to bring a unique style of Lindy Hop on the dance floor. They both fell in love with the old school jazz after having been trained in different disciplines.

Their approach to dancing outlines the importance of rhythm, allowing each dancer's personality to shine while fostering a deep connection with both their partner and the music. Their classes are about finding your voice, expressing, and embracing the freedom to dance with confidence and style.

As a duo from two different places of the world, they are all about the social aspect of Lindy Hop and love to connect with their students - both in class and on the social floor!

Nevena Dograjić & Miloš Dograjić (SRB)

Miloš was inspired by the energy and creativity of the swing dances, so he began his own journey into the world of swing in 2013. In 2018, he co-founded the Swing’n’Roll dance school in Belgrade. While he began as a Lindy Hopper, his passion for Balboa grew, and in 2019, he became one of the pioneers of the Balboa scene in Belgrade.

Nevena’s swing dance journey began far from Serbia, during a vacation on Réunion Island. Once she returned home, she dove into the swing dance culture and quickly became captivated by the music and movement. Inspired by the joy of improvisation and the freedom of expression, Nevena has continued to grow and evolve as a dancer, always seeking to have fun and push her creativity.

Katerina Laleva & Marin Stanchev (BG)

Katerina discovered swing dancing in 2013, diving straight into the vibrant world of Boogie Woogie. Her dedication and love for the style led her to compete in the WRRC senior class for two years, where she gained valuable experience and continued to push her boundaries.

Marin’s journey into swing dancing began in 2014, and it has since become an integral part of his life. Over the years, he has traveled to international festivals, gaining diverse experience and inspiration from the global swing dance community.

Together, Marin and Katerina have been training and growing as a couple for the past five years. Passionate about teaching, they aim to pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm to others, encouraging them to explore the joy of Boogie Woogie without limits.
